2017 INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year, AH&LEF awards scholarships to state association executives and staff members to attend the Institute for Organizational Management. This educational program, conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Congress, is a series of one-week seminars on business management, sequenced over four years, and specifically designed for association executives.
Any PSA executive or staff member interested in being considered should email an updated resume, which includes current position, as well as a short statement explaining why you want to be considered to Michelle Poinelli at AH&LEF mpoinelli@ahlef.org. The application deadline is November 18, 2017. ISHAE’s board reviews the applications during the winter ISHAE meeting and makes recommendations to the Foundation regarding the recipients and award amounts.
Scholarship amounts vary from year-to-year depending upon the number of applicants and recommendations from the ISHAE Board. The cost of tuition is $1,295 for U.S. Chamber members and $1,745 for non-members. In the past the U.S. Chamber has allowed our scholarship recipients to register using AH&LA’s membership number; however, they are no longer honoring so the cost of tuition will now be based on the membership status of the PSA with the U.S. Chamber. Typically, CEO recipients are awarded scholarships which cover the tuition cost at the member rate. Once a CEO scholarship is awarded, the CEO is assured funding to finish the program as long as he or she does not miss two consecutive years. Non-CEO scholarships are renewed on a year-to-year basis.

• Midwest Institute – June 4-8, 2017 – University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI
• Southeast Institute – June 25-29, 2017 – University of Georgia, Athens, GA
• West Institute – July 9-13, 2017 – Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, CA
• Northeast Institute – July 30-August 3, 2017 – Villanova University, Villanova, PA
